I was having a group of friends come to visit and travel through the area, and I decided to look up some local areas to accommodate everyone. I saw some very positive reviews involving the "Hodgeville Skool & Inn," and thought it sounded like a nice little place to stay.When I left to pick up my friends, I decided to go through the town of Hodgeville. I noticed that the majority of the houses are broken, run down and abandoned. I noticed that i had gotten some funny looks when driving through. There is a small/single store, but the staff seemed friendly enough.I remember there was a notice at the store about being closed the week after for a memorial service. When we left the ghost town, we saw "RED RUM" written on the sign for the Inn.I was super uncomfortable and anxious, and the overall vibe is very tense. It was as though I went through a ghost town, and felt I was incredibly unwelcome.Incidentally, some of the reviews below are from relatives and friends of the owner. I would not recommend this place if you paid me.
We had an awesome time at this incredibly unique hotel!! I had my mom, who used a walker, with me and the owners went out of their way to support us and provide us with a great experience. Aside from having a huge room with a complete kitchen, we also had access to a gym, piano and bbq! This was all very handy when a rain storm came and all of our family in the area came to the hotel and at different points we played games and made music (sort of) ha ha!! Thank you so much to Gail and Mirek!! We really appreaciated your hospitality!!
Looking for a clean and rodent free place to stay? Keep looking. This place should be condemned and burnt to the ground! Never have I seen such a messy and dirty place. The owners are very weird but not as strange as the long term renters living there. Stay away! Just ask some of the residents of the town about the business.
